Airforce Sports Quota Recruitment Age Limit |
Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the Airforce Sports Quota online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent/ Birth certificate will be accepted by the Indian Air Force (IAF-Agnipathvayu) for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted. The age limit for Airforce Sports Quota is;

Airforce Sports Quota Recruitment Eligibility Details |
Science Subjects
- Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
- 03 years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Information Technology/ Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). OR
- 02 years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in vocational course).
Other than Science Subjects
- Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
- 02 years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
Only unmarried male candidates will be eligible for enrolment as Agniveervayu (Sports). Read the official notification for post wise eligibility details.
Airforce Sports Quota Recruitment Selection Process |
The Indian Air Force (IAF) will recruit sportspersons under the Agniveervayu (Sports) Intake 01/2026 through a transparent, multi-stage selection process. The aim is to ensure only eligible, fit and skilled candidates join the force. Below is the step-by-step selection process as per the official notification.
1. Document Verification
All candidates must bring original documents and self-attested photocopies to the selection venue. Documents include:
- Educational qualification certificates
- Sports achievement certificates
- Date of birth proof
- Government-issued ID proof
- Recent passport-size photographs
Candidates failing to produce valid documents will be disqualified.
2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
To assess physical endurance, candidates must pass the following tests:

| Squats | 20 in 1 minute |
Note: Only candidates who clear the run can attempt the other exercises. Short breaks will be given between tasks.
3. Sports Skill Trials
Candidates passing the PFT will undergo sports-specific trials. Trials will test:
- Technical skills
- Game sense and tactical ability
- Overall performance in the chosen sport
Trials will be conducted at venues decided by the Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB) in Delhi-NCR.
4. Medical Examination
Conducted by the IAF Medical Team for shortlisted candidates. Includes:
- Physical measurements and standards check
- Vision, hearing and dental examination
- Blood and urine tests
- Chest X-ray (PA view)
- ECG
Candidates declared unfit may appeal for a review by paying ₹40 in the prescribed manner.
5. Final Merit List & Enrolment
Final selection is based on overall performance in:
- Physical Fitness Test
- Sports Skill Trials
- Medical Examination
Selected candidates will be enrolled as Agniveervayu (Sports) under the Agnipath Scheme for a 4-year service period.
