Assam Rifles Sports Quota Selection Process 2026

The Assam Rifles Meritorious Sportspersons Recruitment Rally 2026 follows a structured and transparent selection process to ensure only the best candidates are recruited under the Sports Quota. The procedure involves multiple stages assessing eligibility, physical standards, sports performance and medical fitness.

1. Entry & Document Verification

Only candidates with a valid call letter and a government-issued photo ID are allowed entry to the rally site. Original documents are verified for:

• Age proof
• Educational qualification
• Caste/category (for relaxation)
• Sports achievements
• Domicile/PRC

Candidates failing document verification are immediately disqualified.

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)

• Conducted using RFID technology for accuracy.
• Minimum requirements:
  • Male: Height – 170 cm, Chest – 80 cm (with 5 cm expansion)
  • Female: Height – 157 cm
• Weight must be proportionate to height and age.
• Relaxations in height and chest are applicable for ST candidates, specific regions and certain communities.

3. Motor Ability Test (MAT)

• Assesses stamina, agility and overall fitness.
• Conducted as per Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) and Sports Authority of India (SAI) guidelines.

4. Sports Field Trials

• Discipline-specific trials test skill, technique and performance in the candidate’s sport.
