Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the BPSC 72nd CCE online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent/ Birth certificate will be accepted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted. BPSC 72nd CCE Selection Process 2026 |
The selection process for the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) consists of 3 stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Interview / Personality Test
Candidates must qualify each stage to move to the next round. Final selection is made on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Examination and Interview.
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
- The Preliminary Exam is an objective-type screening test.
- It contains General Studies questions.
- Total Marks: 150
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for every wrong answer.
- Marks obtained in Prelims are not included in the final merit list.
- Candidates are shortlisted for the Main Examination based on cutoff marks.
Stage 2: Main Examination
Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Exam appear in the Main Written Examination.
The BPSC Mains consists of the following papers:

- The Main Examination is descriptive in nature.
- Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in General Hindi.
- Marks obtained in the merit papers are considered for final selection.
Stage 3: Interview / Personality Test
- Candidates qualifying the Main Examination are called for the Interview.
- Total Marks: 120
- The interview assesses:
- Personality
- Communication skills
- Administrative ability
- General awareness
- Decision-making capability
The final merit list is prepared based on Main Examination marks and Interview marks.
Final Selection
The final selection of candidates is done on the basis of:
- Marks obtained in the Main Examination
- Interview/Personality Test marks
- Category-wise cutoff
- Post preference submitted by candidates
How to Apply for BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 |
BPSC 72nd CCE 2026 Online Registration and Submission process will be terminated by 31 May 2026 at 23.59 hrs. Candidature of such applicants who fail to complete online submission of BPSC 72nd CCE application form by stipulated date and time will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
- Applicants must fulfil all essential eligibility criteria (educational qualification, age limit, etc.) by last date of submission of BPSC 72nd CCE application form in respect to that post for which they are applying.
