- Must have Graduation Degree in any discipline or its equivalent from any recognized Institute.

Mode of selection
- Selection will be by a written objective test only.
- There will be no interview.
Minimum qualifying marks for appearing in merit
- General category 40%
- Backward classes 36.5%
- Extremely Backward classes 34%
- SC ST women and persons with disability 32%
Papers, marks and duration
- Paper 1 — General Language (Objective) total 100 marks two hours
- Part 1 General English 30 marks
- Part 2 General Hindi 70 marks
- Paper 1 is qualifying. Candidate must secure minimum 30% in each language separately. Without meeting this minimum the candidature will not be considered further.
- Paper 2 — General Studies (Objective) total 100 marks two hours
- This paper covers general science current affairs India and Bihar history geography polity economy and related topics.
- Paper 3 — General Aptitude (Objective) total 100 marks two hours

- This includes arithmetic reasoning numerical ability analytical and logical reasoning and related topics.
Question paper format
- Each question is one mark.
- Negative marking is applied. One third mark (1/3) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Shortlisting and merit list
- Shortlisting and final selection will be based on marks obtained in the written test subject to category wise cut off.
- After the written test document verification will be held. Candidates must produce original certificates as per their online application claims. Failure to produce valid documents will disqualify the candidate from the merit list.
Tie breaking
- If marks are equal merit order will be decided by marks in General Studies.
- If still equal age will be considered.
- If age is also equal preference will be given by alphabetical order in Devanagari script.
Other rules
- No revaluation or rechecking of answer sheets will be allowed.
- Any candidate found to use unfair means or to influence the selection will be disqualified and may be debarred.
