CERTin Scientist B Selection Process 2026 |
The CERT-In Scientist B Recruitment 2026 Selection Process consists of the following stages:
Shortlisting on GATE Score
- Candidates must have a valid GATE 2024, 2025 or 2026 score in the relevant discipline (CS/DA/EC).
- Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage in the ratio of 1:5 based on discipline-wise and category-wise GATE merit.
- If multiple candidates have the same GATE score at the cut-off, all such candidates will be shortlisted.
- Equal weightage is given to GATE 2024, GATE 2025 and GATE 2026 scores.
Document Verification
- Shortlisted candidates must produce all original documents for verification.
- Only candidates who successfully complete document verification will be allowed to appear for the interview.
Personal Interaction / Interview (50 Marks)
Candidates will be assessed on:
- Technical (Academic) Knowledge
- Presentation, Communication Skills & Comprehension
- Academic Performance (0.05 mark for each percentage obtained in the essential qualification)
Minimum Qualifying Marks in Interview
- UR: 50%
- EWS/OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwBD: 40%
Final Merit List
Final selection will be prepared on the basis of:
- GATE Score: 60% Weightage
- Personal Interaction/Interview: 40% Weightage
- Candidates must submit their best valid GATE score (2024/2025/2026) in the applied discipline.
Tie-Breaking Criteria
If two or more candidates obtain the same final marks, the merit will be decided in the following order:
- Higher GATE Score.
- Higher marks in the Technical (Academic) Knowledge section of the interview.
- Older candidate (higher age).
