Railway Apprentice Selection Process

Here is the selection process for Eastern Railway Act Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26 as per the official notification:

📋 Selection Process (No Written Exam or Interview)

✅ Step 1: Merit List Based on Academic Marks

Selection is purely based on merit prepared from:

• 10th Class Marks (Minimum 50% aggregate required)
• ITI Marks (in the trade applied)

Formula Used for Merit Score:

Merit Score=Percentage in 10th+Percentage in ITI2\text{Merit Score} = \frac{\text{Percentage in 10th} + \text{Percentage in ITI}}{2}

Example: If 10th = 80.58%, ITI = 91.68%, then

Merit Score=80.58+91.682=86.13\text{Merit Score} = \frac{80.58 + 91.68}{2} = 86.13

✅ Step 2: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates 1.5 times the number of vacancies will be called for DV to account for absentees or disqualifications. DV includes checking:

• Academic certificates (10th & ITI)
• Caste/Category certificates (if applicable)
• PwBD/ExSM certificates (if applicable)
• Medical fitness certificate

• Based on community-wise merit and available slots in a unit-trade combination, final allotment is done.
• A candidate is allotted to only one unit/trade based on their preference and merit.

✅ Tie-Breaking Rule (If Scores Are Equal)

1. Candidate with older age will be preferred.
2. If date of birth is also same, earlier passing date of 10th will be considered.
