IGIB Technician Gr-II Age Limit 2026 |
Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the IGIB Technician Gr-II online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent/ Birth certificate will be accepted by the CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB) for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted. IGIB Technician Gr-II Selection Process 2026 |
- Written Examination
- Trade Test

The selection process for this recruitment will be conducted in multiple stages to assess the candidates’ eligibility, technical skills and overall suitability for the post.
Application Screening
After the application process is completed, all applications will be scrutinized by a Screening Committee constituted from the members of the Selection Committee. The committee will shortlist eligible candidates based on criteria decided by it. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for the Trade Test.
Stage 1: Trade Test
Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Trade Test conducted by the Selection Committee. The Trade Test will evaluate the practical knowledge, technical skills and suitability of candidates for the respective post.
Candidates qualifying in the Trade Test will be allowed to appear for the Competitive Written Examination.
Stage 2: Competitive Written Examination
The written examination will be conducted in Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format through OMR Sheet or Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Evaluation Method
Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I as determined by the Selection Committee. Only those candidates who qualify in Paper-I will have their Paper-II and Paper-III answer sheets evaluated.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in:
- Paper-II (General Awareness and English Language)
- Paper-III (Concerned Subject)
Marks obtained in Paper-I will be used only for qualifying purposes and will not be considered while preparing the final merit list.
Tie-Breaking Criteria
If two or more candidates secure the same aggregate marks in the final merit list, the tie will be resolved as per the guidelines prescribed by the CSIR in its official instructions issued from time to time.
Document Verification and Final Selection
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the final merit list will be called for document verification. Final appointment will be made after successful verification of educational qualifications, certificates and other eligibility conditions prescribed in the recruitment notification.
