Indian Army are inviting applications from female candidates who have successfully cleared the NEET (UG)-2023 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). These applications are for admission to the four-year BSc (Nursing) Course, which will commence in 2023 at the Colleges of Nursing under the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).

The selection of candidates for admission to the Colleges of Nursing will be based on their overall merit and preferred choices. The final merit list will be prepared by considering the NEET (UG)-2023 score, Computer-Based Test of General Intelligence, General English (ToGIGE), Psychological Assessment, Interview and the candidate’s choice of institution. However, admission is subject to medical fitness and availability of vacancies at each College.

Application Fee and Payment Process

To apply for the Indian Army BSc Nursing Course, candidates are required to pay an application fee. The application fee can be paid online through various modes such as net banking, debit card, credit card or any other designated payment gateway. It is important for applicants to carefully follow the instructions provided during the payment process to ensure successful completion of the transaction. Eligibility Criteria for Army BSc Nursing Course 2023

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent in their first attempt with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English.
  • The candidate must have obtained an aggregate of at least 50% marks in these subjects. The examination should have been taken as a regular student from a recognized Board/ University/ Examining Body.
  • Female candidates who are unmarried/divorced/legally separated/widow without encumbrances.
  • Qualify NEET (UG)-2023 conducted by NT A.

Physical Standards

The physical standards for admission to the BSc (Nursing) course will be determined by a medical board, following the standards and criteria that are periodically established and updated.

  • As per the requirements, the minimum height for female candidates entering the Armed Forces is set at 152 cm.
  • Candidates from Hill and North Eastern States are accepted with a minimum height of 147 cm.
  • It is important to note that candidates below 18 years of age at the time of examination will be allowed a 02 cm growth allowance.

The candidates will be shortlisted based on their NEET (UG) 2023 scores. The list of shortlisted candidates for the screening process will be available on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Those who are shortlisted will be required to participate in the ToGIGE, Psychological Assessment, Interview and Medical examination at Base Hospital Delhi Cantt. The admit card for these processes can be downloaded from the official website.

Verification of Documents

During the screening process at BHDC, all shortlisted candidates must present the original documents mentioned in the admit card. If a candidate does not have the original certificates at the time of screening, they should provide an original receipt from the institution where the documents are deposited. Candidates must provide an undertaking stating their commitment to produce all original certificates during the admission process. This ensures the verification of documents for further proceedings.

Test of General Intelligence & General English

The Test of General Intelligence & General English (ToGIGE) will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT). It will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question carrying two marks. The maximum score achievable is 80 Marks. For each incorrect answer, a negative marking of 0.5 marks will be applied. Candidates will have a time limit of 30 minutes to answer these 40 questions.

Psychological Assessment and Interview

As part of the selection process, all shortlisted candidates will undergo a psychological assessment and an interview conducted by a Board of Officers at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. During this stage, candidates may be asked questions related to their core subjects up to Std XII, as well as on general knowledge, current affairs, and their personal interests and hobbies. The aim is to evaluate the candidate’s psychological attributes and overall suitability for the BSc Nursing course.

Medical Examination

All candidates must meet the required medical standards, taking into consideration the specific training requirements, duties involved and the desired level of fitness for candidates to join the Military Nursing Service (MNS). Upon being shortlisted, candidates will undergo a thorough medical examination conducted by a Special Medical Board (SMB) at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt. The candidates will be notified about their medical status once the medical examination is completed. It is essential for candidates to meet the necessary medical criteria to be deemed fit for the MNS.

How to Apply for Army BSc Nursing Course 2023

Interested candidates who have successfully cleared NEET (UG) 2023 can register for the course by visiting the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. The registration process will be available after the declaration of NEET (UG) 2023 results.

  • During registration, candidates need to provide their name, mobile number, email id, and other required details. They must also upload scanned copies of the necessary documents in the specified size and format.
  • The candidate’s email id will serve as the user id for the website, and they will need to select their own password. Candidates should make a note of their username and password for future access to the website and correspondence.
  • It is important for candidates to carefully review and make any necessary corrections to the filled application form using the EDIT menu before clicking the SUBMIT button. Once the application is submitted, no further corrections will be possible.
  • All candidates, except SC/ST, are required to pay an application processing fee of Rs 200/- through the online payment gateway. SC/ST candidates need to upload documentary proof as well.
  • Upon successful completion of the online payment, a bank reference number (DU number) will be generated, and a confirmation page will be displayed. Candidates should note down the DU number for future reference (except SC/ST).
  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of the filled application form and the payment confirmation page for their own records.
  • Once the application is submitted, a provisional registration number called the Reference number will be generated. This number will be sent to the candidate’s registered email id. The reference number should be quoted in all future communications with the Directorate.
