The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts the Group-C Services Combined Examination every year to fill various government posts under different departments. The selection process for MPSC Group C 2025 is based on multiple stages that ensure only the most qualified and deserving candidates are selected for appointment.
MPSC Group C Preliminary Exam Pattern 2025
The Preliminary Exam is the first stage of selection. It is an objective-type test with multiple-choice questions. This exam is common for all posts under Group C.

The Main Examination is the most important stage of the recruitment. It consists of two papers – Paper 1 (common for all) and Paper 2 (post-specific).

Typing Test (Only for Clerk-Typist and Related Posts)
For certain posts like Clerk-Typist (लिपिक-टंकलेखक), candidates also need to qualify a Typing Test after the Main Examination.
- The typing test is conducted in Marathi and English.
- Minimum required speed:
- Marathi Typing: 30 words per minute
- English Typing: 40 words per minute
- Candidates must have a valid Government-recognized typing certificate or pass the typing exam within the allowed time after appointment (as per MPSC rules).
Document Verification (DV)
After clearing all written stages, shortlisted candidates are called for Document Verification. During this stage, candidates must present all original documents and self-attested copies, including:
- Educational qualification certificates
- Caste or category certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate
- Typing certificate (if required)
- Identity proof and other supporting documents
Failure to provide correct documents can lead to disqualification.
Final Merit List and Appointment
After all stages are completed, MPSC prepares the final merit list based on marks obtained in the Main Examination (and Typing Test where applicable).
Candidates whose names appear in the merit list are recommended for appointment to respective posts under the Government of Maharashtra.
