NFR Sports Quota Eligibility Criteria |
Level 1 (GP Rs.1800)
- Passed Class 10th (matriculation) or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Levels 3 or 2 (GP Rs.2000 / 1900)
- Passed Class 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination from a Govt. recognized Board/Council/ Institution.
Levels 5 or 4 (GP Rs.2800 / 2400)
- Graduate or equivalent examination passed from recognised university/institution.

NFR Sports Quota Selection Process 2025 |
Applications may be screened on the basis of information furnished in the online application. Only screened in candidates will be called for the Written Test. Two level recruitment process: (1) Written Test and (2) Skill Test.
CRITERIA FOR RECRUITMENT
(a) Trials of the candidates shall be conducted to assess their sports performance and suitability for Railway/Unit team as well as Indian Railways team. Trial Committee shall give its recommendation in terms of either FIT or NOT FIT for consideration for next stage by giving marks maximum 40 marks as per the criteria given below.
- (i) For game skill physical fitness and
- (ii) coach’s observations during trials : 40 Marks.
- FIT Candidate : Candidate securing 25 marks or more.
- NOT FIT Candidate : Candidate securing marks below 25.
(b) After Trial only the FIT candidates shall be considered for the interview stage by the Recruitment Committee. Recruitment Committee shall award 60 marks for sports achievement and educational qualification as per marks distribution indicated at (f) below.
(c) Recruitment Committee shall take interviews and award marks out of 60 only to the FIT candidates for their sports achievements educational qualifications etc. Candidates who are declared NOT FIT will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee.
(d) Interviews of the candidates shall invariably be held on the same day just after trials or at the most next day of the trials.
(e) Recruitment Committee is to add the marks given by the Trial Committee to the FIT candidates i.e. out of 40 marks in order to make the final merit list out of 100 marks.

Note: For educational qualification six marks shall be given to the candidate fulfilling only the minimum educational qualification for the post. Candidates with higher qualification shall be given higher marks.

How final merit is prepared
- Trial Committee gives marks up to 40 for trials.
- Recruitment Committee gives marks up to 60 for sports achievements and education.
- Marks are added to form final score out of 100.
- Only FIT candidates are assessed by Recruitment Committee.

NFR Sports Quota Recruitment 2025 Online Registration and Submission process will be terminated by 15 October 2025 at 23.59 hrs. Candidature of such applicants who fail to complete online submission of NFR Sports Quota application form by stipulated date and time will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
- Applicants must fulfil all essential eligibility criteria (educational qualification, age limit, etc.) by last date of submission of NFR Sports Quota application form in respect to that post for which they are applying.
