Odisha Civil Judge Selection Process 2026 |
- Written Examination

The selection process follows three stages as per Odisha Judicial Service Rules. Candidates must qualify each stage to move forward. Final merit is prepared using marks of Main Exam and Interview.
Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination
This is a screening test.

Stage 2 – Main Written Examination
This is the most important stage. It is descriptive in nature.

Stage 3 – Interview
- Total Marks: 100
- Minimum Qualifying: 40%
Candidates are shortlisted up to 3 times the vacancies.
Interview checks legal knowledge communication and awareness.
Final Merit List
- Main Exam + Interview marks are counted
- Weightage is combined for final ranking
Tie Breaking Rules
If two candidates get same marks:
- Higher marks in Main Exam
- Higher marks in LLB
- Older candidate gets higher rank
Important
- Preliminary marks are not counted in final merit
- Merit list remains valid for 1 year
- Candidates must clear each stage separately
