Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the PNB Bank LBO online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation or equivalent/ Birth certificate will be accepted by the Punjab National Bank (PNB) for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted. PNB LBO Recruitment Selection Process |
The selection of candidates for the post of Local Bank Officer (LBO) will take place in four stages:
- Online Written Examination
- Document Screening
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
- Personal Interview
Only those candidates who complete all stages will be considered for the final merit list.
1. Online Written Test
This exam will be held online. The paper will include multiple choice questions.
There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer, one fourth of the marks will be deducted.
You need to score minimum qualifying marks in each section to pass.

Candidates must score at least 40% in each section (for General and EWS categories) and 35% for other reserved categories.
2. Screening of Documents
After the online exam, the bank will check the online application details and the documents uploaded by the candidate.
If any detail is found incorrect the application will be rejected at this stage.
3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
This test checks a candidate’s ability to read write and speak the local language of the state they applied for.
- If the candidate has studied the local language in Class 10 or Class 12, they will be exempted from this test.
- Those who have not studied the local language must appear in LLPT.
- LLPT is only qualifying in nature.
- If you do not qualify, you will be disqualified even if your written and interview scores are good.
4. Personal Interview
Candidates who clear the Written Test and LLPT will be called for the Interview.
- Interview carries 50 marks.
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- SC ST candidates: 22.50 marks (45%)
- Others: 25 marks (50%)
If a candidate does not score the minimum required marks in the interview, they will not be selected.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on:
- Marks of Written Test
- Marks of Interview
This merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise.
Candidates must qualify in all stages to get selected.
