Punjab Stenotypist Selection Process 2025 |
Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board has released the recruitment notification for the post of Stenotypist under Advt. No. 14/2025. The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages to shortlist eligible candidates for final appointment. Every stage is compulsory and candidates must qualify each step to move to the next one. Below is the complete step by step selection procedure.
Stage 1 – Objective Written Examination
The recruitment starts with an objective type written exam. It will be conducted in two parts
Part A
This paper will test Punjabi language as per the notification of Government of Punjab dated 28 October 2022 for Matric level standard
Candidates must score at least 50 percent marks to qualify
Part B
This paper will be an objective MCQ based written exam
Candidates need to score a minimum of 50 percent marks to qualify
Only those candidates who clear both Part A and Part B separately will be shortlisted for the next stage
Stage 2 – Punjabi Stenography Skill Test
Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for the stenography test in Punjabi
This test will be conducted at a speed of 80 words per minute
Two paragraphs of 200 words each will be dictated
Candidates will get typing time based on 15 words per minute
Errors up to 8 percent are allowed. Candidates scoring within permissible error limit will be considered qualified
Stage 3 – Merit List
After the skill test a merit list will be prepared based on the number of mistakes made in the stenography test
Candidates with fewer mistakes will be ranked higher
If two or more candidates score the same then the one with higher age will get preference
If tie still persists then higher academic qualification marks will decide merit
Final Selection
Final selection will be based strictly on performance in the Punjabi Stenography Test
No interview will be conducted
Document verification will be the last step before joining
