SECL Mining Sirdar, Dy. Surveyor & Asst. Foreman Selection Process 2026 |
The selection process is simple and fully based on a Computer Based Test. No interview will be conducted for this recruitment.
Computer Based Test (CBT)
All eligible candidates must appear in the CBT. Candidates are allowed to take the test based on the details they submit in the application form. Verification of eligibility will be done only after the result is declared.
The CBT will be objective in nature with multiple choice questions. The paper will be available in both Hindi and English. In case of any confusion, the English version will be considered final.
Exam Pattern
The CBT will have two sections:
- Section A: Technical Knowledge related to the post – 80 questions
- Section B: General Awareness Aptitude and knowledge of CIL/SECL – 20 questions
Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking. No marks are given for unanswered questions.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
To be included in the merit list, candidates must secure minimum marks as per category:
- General and EWS: 45 marks
- OBC NCL and ESM: 40 marks
- SC and ST: 35 marks
Merit List Preparation
The merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the CBT. Only candidates who meet the cutoff and eligibility criteria will be included.
In case of tie in marks, the ranking will be decided by:
- Higher age will be given preference
- Earlier date of statutory certificate
- Alphabetical order of name
- Final decision by selection committee if required
Result Declaration
The CBT result will be published on the official SECL website. Candidates can check their scores online.
Document Verification
Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will be called for document verification. They must bring all original certificates. If a candidate fails to appear or fails to provide valid documents, their candidature will be cancelled.
Medical Examination
Selected candidates must pass a medical fitness test conducted by the company. Final appointment depends on medical fitness as per mining standards.
If declared unfit, the candidate can appeal to the Apex Medical Board. The decision of the board will be final.
Final Selection and Appointment
Final selection will be based on CBT marks, document verification and medical fitness. Appointment letters will be issued according to merit position and reservation rules.
If any false information or ineligibility is found at any stage, the candidature or job will be cancelled.
Exam Cities
Candidates can choose three exam cities while filling the form. However, SECL has the right to change or allocate any test city based on requirements.
