SSB Head Constable Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Head Constable (Electrician)

• Should have Passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board in India.
• 02 years work experience in respective trade or One year certificate course from ITI or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the respective trade or 02 years Diploma from a recognised ITI in the respective trade or similar trade.

Head Constable (Mechanic)

• Should have Passed Matriculation from a recognized Board in India.
• ITI  Diploma in automobile or motor mechanical engineering or
• 02 years certificate course in automobile or motor mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Possess valid Driving License for Heavy Vehicles.

Head Constable (Steward)

• Should have Passed Matriculation from a recognized Board in India.
• Diploma or certificate in Catering Kitchen management.
• One year experience in similar job in a reputed hotel.

Head Constable (Veterinary)

• Passed Intermediate (10+2) examination with Science and Biology as main subject.
• 02  years Diploma Course in Veterinary and Livestock Development or Veterinary Stock Assistant Course or Animal Husbandry Course.

Head Constable (Communication)

• Passed Intermediate or equivalent in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• 03 years diploma in Electronics or Communications or Computer Science or Information Technology.

SSB Head Constable Selection Process 2023

The SSB selection process combines several stages, including a Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Trade Test, Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination. In this article, we will delve into each stage to provide aspiring candidates with a clear understanding of what to expect during the SSB Head Constable Selection Process in 2023.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The first step in the selection process is the PET, candidates proceed to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The PET assesses the physical fitness and endurance of the applicants. The test consists of activities such as a 1.6 km race, high jump, long jump, and shot put.

Written Exam: Upon successfully clearing the PET/ PST, which serves as a crucial screening test. This examination aims to evaluate the candidates’ knowledge and aptitude in various subjects such as General Awareness, Mathematics, Reasoning, English/Hindi Language, and Professional Knowledge/ Technical Subjects.

It shall be of 3 hours duration and will be of 150 marks, consisting 150 multiple choice objective type questions focusing on General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English/General Hindi and technical subject.

Trade Test: After successfully clearing the PMT, candidates may be required to undergo a Trade Test. This stage assesses the practical skills and knowledge related to the specific trade associated with the Head Constable position. The trade test may vary based on the specialization, such as Communication, Engineering, or Medical.

Document Verification (DV): The Document Verification stage is a critical step where candidates need to produce the necessary documents to authenticate their eligibility and qualifications.
