How to Apply Online For New Voter ID Card

Voter ID Card is also known as identity card. This card is issued to all eligible Voters. The Voter ID Card is required to cast your vote in your constituency, state and country elections. When you successfully apply for Voter ID Card, you will be listed in the voter list. The voter list is the list of all eligible people who are considered eligible to cast their vote as voters. Registration for your Voter ID Card is very simple. And there are different ways to apply.

Citizens of India who have attained the age of 18 years can apply for Voter ID Card. There are Three Categories of applicants:

1. General resident elector
2. Overseas Voters/NRI
3. Service election

General voters must fill out Form 6. This form is for those who are getting Voter ID Card for the first time or who are moving from another state to another state. At the same time, NRI voters have to fill Form 6A. If you have to make any change in the Voter ID Card, then you have to fill in Form 8. To shift from one place to another in the same state, Form 8A has to be filled.

Step 2 : Enter Your mobile no. (An OTP Password sent to Your mobile no, Enter it.)

Step 3 : NVSP Form 6 will open up for you to fill in.

Step 4 : You can choose your preferred language from Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Step 5 : Any field marked with an asterisk is a mandatory field and has to be filled.

Step 6 : Select your State and Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency. Enter your Basic details.

Step 7 : You can then upload supporting documents:

• Recently colored passport size photo
• Scanned copy of proof of residence
• Scanned copy of proof of age / identity
• Fill in your place and date to complete the form.
• You can save your filled-in form and continue later. If you have completed your form.

Step 8 : Finally, Submit your the application.

Note : It may  take several days, But Voter Card sent to you via Post.

How to Check Voter ID Card Status Online ?

As we all know that it is mandatory for any person to have a valid voter id card to cast their vote. If you do not currently have a Voter ID Card and have applied for a Voter Identity Card, then you can track your application status through online. After successfully submitting the application for the Voter Identity Card, the tracking reference id is provided to the applicants. With this, you can see the online status of your application.

1. To see the status of your Voter Identity Card, you have to go to the portal of “National Voter Service Portal (NVSP)”.
2. On the NVSP homepage, you will see the option of “Track Application Status”. Please click on it. Here you have to enter your Reference id number. After this click on the “Track Status” button.
