The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) has announced the 2nd State Level Selection Test (SLST) 2025 for recruiting Assistant Teachers for Classes IX–X and XI–XII in government-aided and sponsored secondary/higher secondary schools of West Bengal.
This recruitment process follows directions from the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and is being conducted under the Rules 2025. The selection process includes a written exam, academic evaluation, interview and lecture demonstration.

📝 Stage 1: Written Examination
📌 Exam Format:
- Total Marks: 100
- Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
- No. of Questions: 100
- Each Question: 1 mark
- Negative Marking: None
- Duration: As per schedule
- Medium: English & Bengali (except for language subjects)
- Sanskrit paper will be in Bengali
✅ Exam Eligibility:
- Only those who submit complete applications online and pay the fee will be eligible.
- Medium of examination must be selected during form fill-up.

📊 Stage 2: Evaluation of Academic & Professional Qualifications
After the written exam, the Commission will evaluate the academic and professional qualification scores of each candidate. These marks will be added to the final merit calculation.
Marks will be allotted for:
- Graduation/Post Graduation (as applicable)
- B.Ed or equivalent teaching degree
- 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed degree (if applicable)
- Subject equivalence and medium must follow the official criteria in Rules 2025
Note: Only qualifications attained on or before the last date of application will be considered.
🎙️ Stage 3: Interview & Lecture Demonstration
Candidates shortlisted after written exam and academic evaluation will be called for:
- Oral Interview
- Lecture Demonstration
These will be assessed on:

- Subject-wise, medium-wise, gender-wise and category-wise
- Only one correct option per MCQ in the written test
- OMR sheets with errors (e.g., multiple marks or wrong filling) will not be evaluated
- In case of a tie, priority is given to higher academic marks
🧾 Panel and Waiting List Publication
- The merit list will be published online
- Validated by the Board of Secondary Education and School Education Department
- Merit-based panel equal to number of vacancies will be created
- Additional waiting list of qualified candidates not included in the panel will be maintained
⏳ Validity:
- The panel and waiting list will be valid for one year from the date of first counselling
