YIL Ordnance Factory Apprentice Eligibility Criteria |
Non ITI Candidates
- Passed Madhyamik (class X std or equivalent) from any recognized Board in India.
ITI Pass Candidates
- Passed Madhyamik / Class X std or equivalent (Minimum 50% marks in Matriculate / Class X std).
- Must have ITI Certificate in respective trade from any institute recognized by NCVT or SCVT or any other authority.

Selection for the apprenticeship program will be based on a merit list, which will be prepared separately for two categories: NON-ITI and EX-ITI. The merit list for the NON-ITI category will be factory-wise and will be based on the overall percentage of marks in Madhyamik or matriculation (Class 10 standard or equivalent) as entered by the candidate in the online application form.
The aggregate marks in all subjects or best of five subjects as per the criteria of that 10th Board will also be considered. Candidates must submit the original mark sheet of Madhyamik Board (Class X std. or equivalent).
For the NON-ITI category, a factory-wise common merit list will be prepared, and the trades will be allotted by each factory on Merit-cum-choice basis after selection. If the candidate has obtained a CGPA/GPA grading, they must enter marks (and not CGPA grading) by conversion as per their 10th standard board criteria.
If the candidate incorrectly enters the CGPA grading, it will be converted to a percentage by standard multiplication factor of 9.5 uniformly, irrespective of their board criteria. This formula will be used for all such candidates, either for whom there is an absence of clear instruction from the concerned 10th Board or those who use an incorrect ratio, different from the one mandated by the concerned 10th Board. The marks/percentage will be considered for preparing the merit list.
If the candidate’s class 10th board declares the matriculation result in the form of grades like A+/A/B+/B/C+/C, etc., the candidate must enter the percentage of marks obtained as per 10th board criteria. The candidate must also submit the original mark sheet of Class 10th. In case the corresponding board doesn’t possess the conversion formula, the following table shall be used to calculate the percentage from grades.
The merit list for the Ex-ITI category will be prepared factory-wise and trade-wise, based on the simple average of the percentage of marks in both Matriculation and ITI. Candidates must have a minimum of 50% in aggregate in each.
To calculate the percentage of Matriculation, the marks entered by the candidate in the online application form will be considered, which will be the aggregate of all subjects or best of 5 subjects, as per the guidelines of that 10th Board. For the calculation of the percentage of ITI marks, the marks mentioned in the provisional/final certificate will be taken into consideration.
The aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in Madhyamik (Class X or equivalent) will be considered irrespective of Board/Exam System. The percentage formula of that Board/Exam System will be used to calculate the percentage.
YIL Ordnance Factory Apprentice Admit Card 2023
YIL Ordnance Factory will release the admit card for the Apprentice Recruitment Exam 2023 on its official website. Candidates who have successfully applied for the recruitment program will be able to download their admit card using their registration number and password. The admit card will contain important information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph, examination date, time and venue details, and instructions for the exam day.
Candidates are required to carry a printed copy of their admit card to the exam centre along with a valid photo identity proof such as Aadhar card, Voter ID, Passport, etc. It is advised that candidates carefully read the instructions mentioned on the admit card and follow them strictly to avoid any inconvenience on the exam day.

YIL Ordnance Factory Apprentice Online Form 2023 On-line Registration and Submission process will be terminated by 14 April 2023 at 23.59 hrs. Candidature of such applicants who fail to complete online submission of YIL Ordnance Factory Apprentice application form by stipulated date and time will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
