Army War College LDC Exam Pattern 2023
The criteria for selecting candidates will be solely based on their merit. The process of selection will comprise a written test as well as a skill test, physical test, practical test, or typing test as required. For all Group ‘C’ positions, the selection will primarily depend on the marks achieved by applicants in the written test.

(a) General Intelligence & Reasoning: This section will encompass a variety of questions to evaluate both verbal and nonverbal reasoning skills. It will include tasks such as identifying analogies, recognizing similarities and differences, visualizing spatial relationships, solving problems, analyzing situations, making judgments, and decision-making. Your visual memory, observation skills, ability to discern patterns, and classification skills—both verbal and visual—will be put to the test. Moreover, the assessment will gauge your capacity to handle abstract concepts, symbols, arithmetic computations, and other analytical functions.
(b) General Awareness: In this segment, the questions are designed to assess your familiarity with the world around you and your ability to apply that understanding to societal contexts. You’ll encounter questions that cover a range of topics, including current events, everyday observations viewed from a scientific perspective, and general knowledge.
Additionally, you’ll be queried about matters concerning India and its neighboring nations, particularly in fields like Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity (including the Indian Constitution) and Scientific Research. These questions are structured so that they don’t necessitate specialized knowledge from any specific discipline.
(c) General English: This part centers on assessing your grasp of the fundamental aspects of the English language. You’ll be examined on your vocabulary, grammar skills, sentence construction and your understanding of synonyms and antonyms, as well as their proper usage. Furthermore, your ability to write effectively will also be evaluated.
(d) Numerical Aptitude: The content of this section encompasses a range of numerical problems. These include topics such as Number Systems, working with Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, and understanding the relationships between different numbers. You’ll be tested on your proficiency in executing Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, calculating Percentages, understanding Ratios and Proportions, calculating Averages, dealing with Interest, Profit & Loss, and Discounts. The assessment will also extend to your familiarity with Tables and Graphs, as well as your aptitude for solving problems related to Mensuration, Time and Distance, Time and Work, among others.
