Pharmacist under Directorate of Prison & Correctional Services

• The candidate has successfully completed the +2 Science Examination under the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha.
• Diploma in Pharmacy Examination either from the state Board of Pharmacy in Odisha or from one of the three Medical Colleges and Hospitals in the state. The diploma could be from any other reputable private institution that has been approved by the All India Council of Technical Education or is registered with the Odisha Pharmacy Council.
• Candidates have enrolled their names with the State Pharmacy Council of Odisha before the advertisement for recruitment is published.

OSSC Pharmacist Selection Process

Preliminary Examination (if applicable): If the number of valid applications surpasses 9000, a Preliminary Examination will be held. All the specifics regarding the types of questions, how the exam will be conducted, its duration, and the number of questions will be shared in due time through an official notice on the website. You can find a comprehensive syllabus for the Preliminary Examination in Annexure ‘C’.

Main Written Examination:
Technical Paper: In this stage, there’s a technical paper worth 200 marks. The details of the syllabus for this technical paper can be found in Annexure ‘C’ as well. More information about the types of questions, how the exam will be held, its duration, and the number of questions will be communicated in due course through an official notice on the website.

Negative marking: There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked by the candidate in examinations consisting of Multiple Choice Questions. The Quantum of penalty/ negative marking will be 1/4 of total mark for each wrong answer.

Certificate Verification:
Candidates, numbering twice the amount of advertised vacancies, categorized based on the specific posts and their respective categories, will be shortlisted for Certificate Verification. This shortlisting will depend on the scores they achieved in the Main Written Examination.
