WBPSC Food SI Exam Pattern 2023

WBPSC Food SI Written Examination

The examination will comprise a single paper covering two sections:

(i) General Studies
(ii) Arithmetic

• Total Marks: 100 (50 marks for each section)
• Duration: 1½ hours
• The written examination will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions.

WBPSC Food SI Personality Test

Maximum Marks: 20

• Candidates who achieve high merit scores in the written examination will be selected in a limited number to participate in the personality test.
• The final merit list will be determined by combining the marks obtained in the written examination and the personality test.
• The Commission retains the authority to set qualifying marks for both the written examination and the personality test, as well as the overall aggregate.

WBPSC Food SI Syllabus for the Written Examination

(i) General Studies:

• Everyday science and matters of common experience.
• Current events and issues, especially those concerning India.
• Basic knowledge of Indian History and Geography.

(ii) Arithmetic:

• Questions will be framed based on the syllabus of the Madhyamik Examination of the W.B.B.S.E., along with an emphasis on mental ability.

(iii) The Commission’s assessment and evaluation of answer scripts will be considered final.

Examination Centres:

The Written Examination is scheduled to take place at multiple centres across Kolkata and select districts in West Bengal. Exclusive arrangements have been made for the DARJEELING centre, where only scheduled tribe candidates from Darjeeling district and candidates from the three hill sub-divisions – Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik, and Kurseong – will be eligible to participate. Similarly, the KALIMPONG centre is designated for all candidates hailing from the Kalimpong district.

The Personality Test phase is set to occur at the premises of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, located in Kolkata.
