Intelligence Bureau JIO Grade 2 Selection Process 2023

The Intelligence Bureau (IB) Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical selection process for the year 2023 is designed to identify competent individuals who possess the necessary skills and ability to succeed in the workplace. The selection process consists of three tiers: Tier-I- Online Exam, Tier-II- Skill Test and Tier-III- Interview/Personality Test. Each tier evaluates different aspects of a candidate’s capabilities, ensuring that only the most qualified individuals are chosen for the job.

Tier-I) Online Exam

The first stage of the selection process is an online exam consisting of objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates will be presented with 100 questions to answer within 2 hours. This exam is divided into two parts: ‘General Mental Ability’ (25% weightage) and a combination of subjects relevant to the essential qualifications (75% weightage). It is important for candidates to be well-prepared in both areas to maximize their chances of success.

Candidates must be cautious while attempting the online exam, as there is a provision for negative marking. For every incorrect answer, a ¼ mark will be deducted from the total score. Therefore, it is advisable to attempt only those questions for which the candidate is confident about the correct answer.

Tier-II) Skill Test

After successfully clearing the Tier-I exam, candidates will proceed to the Tier-II skill test. This stage assesses the practical and technical skills of the candidates, focusing on the specific job profile of an Intelligence Bureau Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical. The skill test consists of 30 practical-based and technical questions, designed to evaluate the candidate’s aptitude in areas relevant to the position they are applying for.

Candidates should utilize their knowledge and practical experience to demonstrate their expertise during the skill test. The panel conducting the interview will evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the position based on their performance and the normalization of marks obtained in the Tier-I exam.

Candidates should approach the interview/personality test with confidence and preparedness. They should be well-versed in current affairs, national and international issues, and possess a good understanding of the role and responsibilities associated with an Intelligence Bureau Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical.
