• B.E/B. Tech Degree in relevant field with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institution.

Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment Selection Process

Shortlisting: The shortlisting of candidates will be based on the normalized marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. The marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree will be normalized using the formulas mentioned in Join Indian Navy’s website (URL: https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf).

For candidates who have completed BE/B.Tech or are in final year, marks obtained till fifth semester will be considered for SSB shortlisting. For candidates who have completed MSc, MCA, MBA, M Tech, marks obtained in all semesters will be considered. For candidates who are in the final year, the shortlisting will be based on the performance in the pre-final year.

SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB interview at one of the SSB centres. SSB Interview is a five-day process which consists of various tests like Psychological Test, Group Task, Personal Interview and Medical Examination. The objective of SSB interview is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the Indian Navy and his/her potential as an officer.

Merit List: Merit list will be prepared on the basis of SSB marks for all entries subject to availability of vacancies and medical clearance for the respective entry. Candidates declared fit in the medical examination will be appointed as per the availability of vacancies in the admission.

Training: Candidates who are selected will undergo basic training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala, Kerala. The duration of the training is 22 weeks. Candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant after passing the induction medical examination at INA after reporting.
