Northern Railway STA Eligibility Criteria 2023

STA (Civil)

• 04 years of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering OR
• A combination of any sub stream of Basic streams of Civil Engineering.

STA (Electrical)

• 04 years of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering OR
• A combination of any sub-stream of Basic streams of Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering.

STA (Signal & Telecom)

• 04 years of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics/ Information Technology/ Communication Engineering or M.Sc. Electronics OR

Northern Railway STA Selection Process 2023

• Computer Based Test

Applicants meeting the criteria will be shortlisted and invited for a screening process during which their original documents will be verified. This shortlisting will be based on the ‘GATE score’ achieved in any of the GATE exams conducted within the last five years (between 2019 and 2023).

The shortlisting will follow a 1:1 ratio to the number of available positions in the Senior Technical Associate (Civil/Electrical/ Signals & Telecommunications) category. This selection process will occur at a specific point in time after which the actual scores will be considered.

For candidates aspiring to become Senior Technical Associates (Civil/Electrical/Signals & Telecommunications), the minimum qualifying marks in their prescribed educational qualifications are as follows:

• General Candidates: 60%
• OBC-NCL Candidates: 55%
• SC/ST Candidates: 50%

Please note that the mentioned minimum marks must be attained in the Bachelor’s Degree for consideration as Senior Technical Associates.
