The Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh has announced recruitment for 218 posts of Junior Basic Teacher (Primary Teacher for Class I-V) on a contractual basis. The entire selection will be based on a written exam with no interview.

The JBT Chandigarh 2025 recruitment follows a single-stage selection process:
- Written Examination (Objective Type)
- Merit List Preparation based on written exam marks

📝 Stage 1: Written Examination
- Mode of Test: Objective (MCQ-based)
- Total Marks: 150
- Total Questions: 150
- Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Negative Marking: Yes (0.25 marks for each wrong answer)
- Qualifying Marks: 40% for all categories

- Merit list will be prepared purely based on marks scored in the written test.
- No interview will be conducted.
- If two candidates score the same marks:

- Higher marks in Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) will get preference.
- If still tied, the older candidate in age will be ranked higher.

- Candidates 1.5 times the number of vacancies will be called for document verification under each category.
- Final selection will be subject to:
- Original document verification
- Valid ICT Skill Certificate (CCC 80 hours or equivalent)
⚠️ Important Notes:
- Admit cards will be issued to all applicants without checking eligibility. Eligibility will be verified only after the exam.
- The exam paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for language subjects.
