Educational Qualifications
- Candidate must have passed Matriculation from the Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Musical Experience
- Candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical music on wind instruments will require a musical experience certificate from any recognized musical institute or organisation of repute.
- A certificate of minimum initial grade from international boards such as Trinity College of Music, London, or Royal School of Music London etc., will be mandatory for candidates performing western notation or western music on wind instruments.
- Other candidates will be required to submit certificates of participation/ awards presented at various events.

Indian Navy Agniveer (Musician) 02/2025 Selection Process
✅ 1. Shortlisting of Candidates
- Shortlisting will be done based on marks obtained in the 10th (Matriculation) examination.
- Only candidates with valid music certificates (Degree/Diploma/Grade/Competition certificates) will be considered.
- Candidates with grades must convert them to marks using the official formula of their board and upload the conversion proof.
- If marks are equal, candidates with an earlier date of birth will be given preference.
✅ 2. Recruitment Process
Shortlisted candidates will receive a Call-up Letter cum Admit Card (CLAC) and will undergo:
(a) Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

(b) Music Ability Test
- All candidates who qualify in PFT will appear for the Music Ability Test.
- Final selection will primarily depend on performance in this test.
- Candidates should have musical proficiency in instruments like Keyboard, String, Wind, etc.
- Proficiency is judged on pitch, tempo, theory, tuning, scale, raaga/taala and notation reading.
(c) Recruitment Medical Examination
- Only candidates who clear the Music Test will undergo this exam.
- Conducted by authorized military doctors.
- Those declared unfit can appeal within 5 days at a designated Military Hospital.
- Medical certificates from private or non-designated hospitals will not be accepted.
✅ 3. Final Merit List
- Compiled on All India basis, based on performance in the Music Ability Test.
- Candidates who qualify the PFT and Medical Test will be included.
- Published by end Aug/early Sep 2025 on www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
✅ 4. Pre-Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka
- All selected candidates must report to INS Chilka, Odisha, for final medical examination before joining.
- Induction is subject to qualifying this medical.
✅ 5. Important Medical Standards
- Minimum Height: 157 cm (both male and female)
- Vision: 6/12 uncorrected, 6/6 corrected, CP pass for color vision
- Tattoo Policy: Only allowed on inner forearm or dorsal hand. Tattoos elsewhere disqualify.
- Pregnancy Clause: Female candidates found pregnant during selection or tenure will be disqualified.
- Gender Clause: Candidates with reassignment surgeries or dominant opposite gender characteristics will be declared unfit.
⚠️ Key Points to Remember
- No postal admit cards. All call-up letters will be uploaded online.
- Police Verification Certificate is mandatory at the time of joining.
- Misrepresentation of any information, including domicile or gender, will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- No claim for next batch if not selected in this one.
