ITBP Driver Selection Process 2024

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has announced its much-awaited Driver Recruitment for the year 2024. This opportunity offers a chance to join the esteemed ranks of the ITBP as a driver. Aspiring candidates can look forward to a comprehensive selection process that includes a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standards Test (PST), Written Exam, Document Verification, Driving Test and Medical Examination.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The first stage of the recruitment process is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which evaluates the physical fitness of candidates. In this test, candidates are required to undergo various physical activities such as a race, long jump and high jump.

• Race: 1.6 Kilometre within 7.30 Minutes
• Long Jump: 11 Feet (03 Chances)
• High Jump: 3.5 Feet (03 Chances)

Physical Standards Test (PST)

After successfully clearing the PET, candidates proceed to the Physical Standards Test (PST). This test checks the physical measurements of candidates, including height, weight and chest measurements. The PST ensures that candidates meet the specified physical standards set by the ITBP.

• Height: 170 cms
• Chest: 80-85 cms
• Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

Written Exam

Candidates who clear the PET and PST move on to the Written Exam. This exam assesses the candidates knowledge in various subjects such as General Awareness, English/ Hindi,  Mathematics, Reasoning and Trade Related questions.

Document Verification

Once candidates successfully pass the Written Exam, they undergo Document Verification. This stage is crucial as it ensures the authenticity of the candidates documents, such as educational certificates, identity proofs and other relevant documents. Candidates are required to produce the original documents as per the ITBP’s guidelines. The following documents will be required for verification:

• Date of birth certificate (10th pass certificate)
• Driving license.
• Experience certificate (if any)
• SC/ST/OBC certificate, if applicable.
• Domicile certificate/ PAN Card/ Voter ID Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving License.
• Discharge certificate (for Ex-Serviceman)
• Relaxation certificate (if applicable)
• Photograph (same as submitted with online form)

Driving Test

Candidates who clear the Document Verification stage will be called for the Driving Test. This test evaluates the driving skills and proficiency of the candidates. It includes both practical and theoretical aspects related to driving, traffic rules and vehicle maintenance.

This test will carry 50 marks and qualifying marks for all candidates (irrespective of categories) shall be 50%. However, the Practical (Skill) Test will be qualifying in nature only.

Medical Examination

The final stage of the ITBP Driver Recruitment process is the Medical Examination. The medical examination includes tests to evaluate general health, visual acuity, hearing ability and overall fitness. Candidates must be in good health and free from any debilitating medical conditions to qualify for this role.
