Air Force Airmen Eligibility Criteria |
For candidates with 10+2 or Equivalent
- Passed 10+2 Intermediate or equivalent examination
- Subjects must include Physics Chemistry Biology and English
- Minimum 50 percent marks in aggregate
- Minimum 50 percent marks in English
OR
- Passed two years Vocational Course
- Non vocational subjects must include Physics Chemistry Biology and English
- Minimum 50 percent marks in aggregate
- Minimum 50 percent marks in English
For candidates with Diploma or B.Sc in Pharmacy
- Passed Intermediate 10+2 or equivalent examination
- Subjects must include Physics Chemistry Biology and English
- Minimum 50 percent marks in aggregate
- Minimum 50 percent marks in English
- In addition candidate must hold
- Diploma in Pharmacy or B.Sc in Pharmacy
- Minimum 50 percent marks in Diploma or B.Sc
- Valid registration with State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India PCI at the time of enrolment

- Aggregate percentage will be considered as mentioned in marksheet without rounding off
- For example 49.99 percent will be treated as 49 percent and not 50 percent

Air Force Airmen Selection Process 2026 |
Phase I – Online Written Examination
This is the first stage of selection.
- Mode of exam is online
- Duration of exam is 45 minutes
- Question paper is bilingual English and Hindi except English section
- Subjects included
- English
- Reasoning
- General Awareness
Marking Scheme
- 1 mark for each correct answer
- No marks for unanswered questions
- 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer
Candidates must qualify each paper separately. Normalisation of marks may be applied if required.
Phase II – Physical and Adaptability Tests
Candidates shortlisted from Phase I are called for Phase II at designated Airmen Selection Centres.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
PFT-I
- 1.6 km run
- Up to 21 years: within 7 minutes
- Above 21 years with Diploma or B.Sc Pharmacy: within 7 minutes 30 seconds
PFT-II
- 10 Push-ups in 1 minute
- 10 Sit-ups in 1 minute
- 20 Squats in 1 minute
Candidates must qualify both parts of PFT.
Adaptability Tests
- Adaptability Test-I
Written objective type test to assess suitability for Air Force environment - Adaptability Test-II
Assesses ability to adapt to military life and service conditions
Only candidates clearing both adaptability tests are considered further.
Phase III – Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify Phase II undergo detailed medical examination by Air Force Medical Board.
Medical tests include
- Blood and urine tests
- Biochemistry tests
- Chest X-ray
- ECG
- Any other test as prescribed by IAF medical authorities
Final medical fitness is decided by the Medical Board and is binding.
Final Merit List and Enrolment
- Provisional Select List is prepared based on performance and medical fitness
- Final enrolment is done strictly on merit basis
- Enrolment is subject to availability of vacancies and meeting all eligibility conditions

Air Force Airmen Recruitment 2026 Online Registration and Submission process will be terminated by 21 March 2026 at 23.59 hrs. Candidature of such applicants who fail to complete online submission of Air Force Airmen application form by stipulated date and time will not be considered and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
- Applicants must fulfil all essential eligibility criteria (educational qualification, age limit, etc.) by last date of submission of Air Force Airmen application form in respect to that post for which they are applying.
