Scrutiny of Applications
All candidates’ applications will be carefully reviewed to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and include the required documents. Admit cards will then be issued to candidates who pass this stage, inviting them to proceed further for document verification and the written examination.
Document Verification
Candidates who have been shortlisted will need to undergo a document verification process before they are allowed to take the written examination. It’s important that candidates bring their original documents along with self-attested photocopies (two sets) as per the guidelines specified in their admit cards.
Written Examination
Shortlisted candidates will participate in a written examination based on the educational qualifications required for the position. This written exam will be conducted using pen and paper and will last for one hour. The question paper, available in both English and another language, will contain 80 objective-type questions, with each correct answer earning one mark. There will be no penalty for wrong answers.
Coast Guard Mumbai Exam Syllabus
The written examination will cover the following subjects:
- General Knowledge
- Mathematics
- General English
- Questions related to the relevant trade
Scoring and Trade Test (if applicable)
To pass the written examination, candidates need to achieve a minimum of 50% marks. For SC and ST candidates, the required marks are 45%. However, no relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable for OBC and EWS candidates. Those who clear the written exam may be shortlisted for a trade test if it’s relevant to the position.
Preparation of Merit List
The merit list will be created based solely on the candidates’ performance in the written examination. Marks obtained in the written exam will determine their position on the list. This merit list, along with any necessary instructions, will be made available on the Indian Coast Guard official website.

Candidates should submit their application form along with self-attested copies of necessary documents at the following address before or on the last date of application through offline mode only (Ordinary post only). Application received after the last date (11 November 2025) or applications incomplete in any respect will not be considered.

- Two additional recent passport size Photographs.
- One self addressed envelope with Rs 50/- postage stamp.
- Attach other necessary documents with the application form.
General Conditions & Instructions |
Interested candidates should send their applications as per format attached and properly sealed in an envelope to subscribe the words “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ________ ” and CATEGORY NAME “_____” on the top of envelope.
- Fill all the columns of the application yourself, In plain and Capital letters.
- The application can be filled by the candidates either in English or Hindi.
- Separate application for each post should be applied. One candidate shall apply only one application.
- The date of written test / skill or trade test/ Interview (as applicable) will be intimated to eligible candidates separately.
- No cutting or over harvesting in the Coast Guard Mumbai application form.
- Incomplete, incorrect, wrongly filled, over writing, without signature, without photograph Coast Guard Mumbai application will be rejected.
